Ever since I was in kindergarten, I have wanted to become a teacher. I spent countless birthday  and shooting star wishes on just that, and now, after 15+ years in education, I still know that teaching is the only career for me. I have taught fifth grade, third grade, first grade, and was a curriculum and technology integration coach. This is my sixth year teaching first grade. One of the best parts of teaching first graders is their sense of wonder and their willingness to try. They also tell really silly jokes and are fascinated by their classmates’ loose teeth. I earned a BS and MA from the University of California, Irvine and an MA from San Jose State University. I am an Apple Distinguished Educator, LASD Teacher of the Year, and a National Board Certified Teacher. In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, taking long walks, and traveling with my husband and two sons. We love taking road trips and have visited 17 states so far. Our goal is to make it to all 50.
